Joel Trammell is an American businessman and entrepreneur.
Education
Joel received his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana Technical University in 1987. Trammell serves on the board of directors for The Louisiana Technical University Research Foundation for the 2013-2014 year.
Career
Trammell is most well known for his work in Chief Executive Officer education and software. He is also the author of The Chief Executive Officer Tightrope, published by Greenleaf Book Group in 2014. After college, Trammell went on to be an instructor at the Naval Nuclear Power School for four years.
From 1990 to 1995, Trammell served as Chief Executive Officer for UST Computers, then co-founded HomeSmart.
He served as Chief Executive Officer until the company was acquired by California Technologies in 2009 for $200 million. After NetQoS, Trammell founded Cache intelligence quotient, a developer of network resident caching solutions for file-based storage.
Cache intelligence quotient was acquired by NetApp Incorporated. in November 2012. In 2011, he co-founded Lone Rock Technology Group Limited Liability Company., where he serves as a managing partner.
Trammell founded Khorus in 2013, a business management software company made specifically for Chief executive officers to align organizations.
The company officially launched in February 2014 and Trammell serves as chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Trammell serves as a board member for Black Box Network Services, Rise School of Austin and Austin Technology Council, where he serves as Chairman Emeritus. Trammell contributes to Forbes and Entrepreneur with advice for current and aspiring Chief executive officers, as well as sharing his leadership experiences on his blog, The American Chief Executive Officer. At the Austin Chapter of Rice Alliance, Trammell teaches a yearly 9-week long Chief Executive Officer training program
