Career
Born 6-6-1951. Nicknamed "The Jab" due to his fast hands and use of his very accurate left jab, Joey was a very talented pure boxer with power behind his fast jab and overhand right. He represented Britain a dozen times, winning gold medals at two multi-national tournaments before turning pro under revered fight guru Charles Atkinson. He then held the world record for youngest fighter and shortest amount of fights to hold the BBBofC Central Area light welterweight title after just 3 fights.
He became British light welterweight champ and retained the Lonsdale Belt.
A European title bid narrowly failed before he hung up his gloves.
