Career

He was court painter to the Swedish court from 1748 onwards and hovintendent from 1758 onwards. One of his most notable paintings is the Hönstavlan (1747). Common motifs in his work include allegorical representations of the four seasons or four continents, typical of the French-influenced Rococo.
