Career
Wiland started playing first team football as a 16-year-old in lower league Rydboholms Saskatchewan, and was brought to IF Elfsborg in 1997. He made his debut for Elfsborg in an away game against Halmstad BK on 4 May 2000, and was denied the clean sheet from a 91st-minute penalty kick. During that season Wiland started in all 26 matches, conceded 19 goals (least in the league) and kept 12 clean sheets.
He signed for in 2009, where he quickly established himself as the first choice goalkeeper.
In 2011-2012 season, he recorded the second most clean sheets in the 2011-2012 Danish Superliga. In 2014, Wiland lost his place in the first team of, following the signing of Stephan Andersen.
In July 2015, he signed for Malmö, following the sale of previous first choice goalkeeper, Robin Olsen, to P.A.O.K. His debut in the Swedish national team came on a tour in South America in January 2007. He represented his country at the Union of European Football Associations Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
He was also called up to the Swedish side for the Union of European Football Associations Euro 2012 by Erik Hamrén.
He acted as back up to Andreas Isaksson. Club IF Elfsborg Individual Players of the Year: 2012.
