John Henry Adler

Background

Adler was born on April 14, 1948 in Brooklyn, United States; the son of Hans Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Zimmerman) Adler.

Education

Adler received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1970 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1975 from the University of Maryland.

Career

Adler began his career as a postdoctoral fellow of the department of biological science at Drexel University in 1975. Three years later he took a position of an assistant professor of biological science at the same university. Also John served as an associate professor of biological science at Michigan Technological University from 1984 to 1994. Since 1995 he was a professor of biological science and a head of the department of biological science at the same university. Nowadays Adler is a professor emeritus at Michigan Technological University.

• Adler is known for his research on biochemistry and physiology of insect motling hormones in plants.

Adler is a member of American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Chemical Society, American Oil Chemists Society and American Society of Plant Physiologists.
