John Bally, American Astrophysicist. Achievements include clarification of important and wide-spread role of molecular out flows in the formation and evolution of young stars;research in large scale millimeter-wave surveys of interstellar molecular clouds which revealed their complex internal structure and dynamics, and in millimeter wave, sub-millimeter wave and infrared astronomy.
