Education
Bangura received his primary education at Rogbaneh American Wesleyan Mission Schools, and Koyeima and Bo Government Secondary Schools.
He enlisted in the Sierra Leone Army in 1950. He attended Eaton Hall, Mons Officer Cadet School in 1952. He graduated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst in August 1954.
