Born in Water Valley, Mississippi with stops in Peoria, Illinois living on the same block as Richard Pryor. Family settled in Chicago where I grew up all over the westside attending nine public schools graduating from William H. Wells is a top quarter of the class.
John attended Ripon College in Wisconsin after Al Jarreau. Graduated from Notre Dame de Namur University, Belmont, California earning a BA in Behavior Science and was the founder and first coach of the men's basketball program. M.U.P. Earned MUP in Urban Planning from San Jose State University. Played college basketball and was a member of the West Valley Track Club (sprinter/long jumper).
