Began as cash boy at Watertown, Wisconsin, at 15. Entered mercantile business at Alma, Wisconsin, 1885. Moved to Williston, North Dakota, 1887, and established Bruegger Mercantile Company, of which is president Mayor of Williston, 1909-1910.
Member Democratic National Committee, North Dakota, 1912-1916 (elected at primaries). Was Democratic candidate for United States senator, 1910. Clubs: Commercial, City.
