Career
Burton was born in the Handsworth district of Birmingham. A defender, he played for Aston Villa from 1885 to 1893 when a knee injury forced his retirement. He played for the club in the 1887 Final.
He died in Hockley, Birmingham, in 1914 at the age of 50.
