Career
He was appointed to the position by president George West. Bush on March 17, 2006. On January 3, 2010, Clark joined Lockheed Martin as their director of security operations for information systems and global solutions. He was succeeded by Stacia Hylton, the former head of the Department of Justice" General’ s Office of the Federal Detention Trustee, and a consultant for a for-profit prison operator GEO Group.
Hylton"s appointment was not confirmed until December 22, 2010.
Clark had more than 20 years experience in the Marshals Service, having served previously as the United States Marshal, Acting Marshal, and Chief Deputy United States. Marshal for the Eastern District of Virginia. Clark began his career with the United States Marshals in the San Francisco and San Jose offices of the Northern District of California.
He has held several other senior positions, including Chief Inspector of the Internal Affairs Division and Chief Inspector of the International Fugitive Investigations Division. He also served seven years in the Special Operations Group.
Before his employment with the United States Marshals he was employed by the United States Capitol Police and the United States Border Patrol.
He holds a Bachelor of Surgery from Syracuse University.
