He was Curate of Great Yarmouth from 1896 to 1900. And then of Christ Church, Gipsy Hill until 1904.He was Vicar of Carshalton from 1904 and a Chaplain to the British Armed Forces during World War I. Later he was Vicar of Street Peter, Tunbridge Wells and then Rector of Street Mark’s Torquay. He was appointed the Archdeacon of Totnes from 1933 until 1947.
