After service in the Royal Air Force 1945 - 48,Davies was educated at Trinity College, Cambridgeand Lincoln Theological College.

John Davies
John Dudley Davies is a former Anglican Bishop of Shrewsbury.
Career
During his tenure the post changed from suffragan bishop to area bishop with the institution of area bishops in 1992. After Ordination in 1954 he began his career as curate in Halton, Leeds. In 1970, action by the South African government terminated his ministry in that cpuntry.
