He is the Chairman of TersusEnergy a finance and strategic advisory business. Devaney is an alumnus of Sheffield University (Bachelor of Engineering 1968) and a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He was awarded non-Executive of the year 2012.
He was previously the Chairman of Liberata United Kingdom Limited, Exel plc, and EA Technology. Executive Chairman of Eastern Electricity and Kelsey-Hayes Company (a wholly owned subsidiary of Varity Corporation). And a non-executive director of Household Bank Bank and British Steel.Chairman of Marconi and member of the Board of Northern Rock after acquisition by the Government.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Shelter the homelessness charity.
