John Dunne

Career

Born in Brackernagh, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Dunne was the son of William Dunne, a carpenter, and Katie Donelan. He was educated at the local Christian Brothers school. After he left school he obtained employment in the town post office.

Achievements

• He was a member of the team that won the county championship of 1929, and the Galway junior team that won the all-Ireland in 1930.

Membership

Dunne became a member of Street Grellan"s GFC where he played midfield and as centre-forward. He became a member of the senior team in 1932.
