Education

McCormack received his early education from the Marist Brothers in Athlone, and he later attended Summerhill College, Sligo.

Career

He began his career with concert and operatic debuts (1907) in London, where he was connected with the Covent Garden Opera Company. His New York operatic debut in La Traviata (Manhattan Opera House in 1909) was followed by many seasons of concert tours throughout the United States, of which he became a citizen in 1919.
