Ordained pastor Baptist Church, Morristown, New Jersey, 1754. Pastor in New York helping in reorganization Baptist Church, 1762. A founder Rhode Island College (now Brown U.).

Chaplain Continental Army. Regent University State New York, 1784. Trustee King’s College (now Columbia), 1787.

Preached in Kentucky and North Carolina.
