John Randolph Grymes was a New Orleans attorney, member of the state legislature, United States attorney for district, and aide-de-camp to General Andrew Jackson during the Battle of New Orleans.
Career
Grymes was born in Orange County, to John Randolph Grymes, Senior (1745 - 1805) and Susannah Beverley Randolph (1755 - 1791), of the Randolph family of
In 1808, Grymes arrived in New Orleans. He would serve until December, 1814.
On December 1, 1822, Grymes married Cayetana Susana "Suzette" Bosque, widow of former governor William Creative Commons Claiborne.
Membership
Grymes was a member of the "New Orleans Association" which included attorneys Edward Livingston and Abner L. Duncan, merchant John K. West, smuggler Pierre Laffite, and pirate Jean Laffite.
