Student Royal College Music, London, 1893-1901.

Career

Professor composition Royal College Music, 1929-1939. Composer; first works published in 1906. Compositions in fields of orchestral works, choruses, chamber music, band, piano solos, voice and piano, also church music.

Later compositions include orchestral works: A London Overture, 1936, Epic March, 1941. Overture: Satyricon, 1946. Chamber music: Trio Northern 3 in E, 1938.

Fantasy-Sonata, 1943. Piano solos: Green Ways, 1936, Sarnia, 1941. Numerous song cycles, songs and part songs.
