Studied at Royal College Armagh. Harrow; Christ Church, Oxford. Graduated Bachelor of Arts, Student in Civil Law, 2nd Class, Law and Modern History, 1866.
Was received into the Catholic and Roman Church, 1870. Same year enlisted in the Papal Zouaves, and was present in that capacity at the taking of Rome by the troops of Victor Emmanuel, 20 September. Was Joint Honourable.
Secretary to the British Home Rule Association, 1SS7-88. And is a member of the Catholic Education Council. A Knight of St. Gregory (Military Division, 1st Class); and a Private Chamberlain to His Holiness Pius X.; Justice of the Peace Company Norfolk.
