Among John"s literary works are Takin’ lieutenant Back (2005) a sports-themed novel, the historical novel Cheyenne Rising Sun (2004). Kuri is a Senior Fellow with the Culture of Lawfulness Project for the National Strategy Information Center, a Washington, District of Columbia - based education and research foundation. Kuri wrote the Foreword to 2013 book "Separation of Powers & The Rule of Law, the Lebanese System" from Doctor Akl M. Kairouz and Doctor Issam Y. Atala.
Kuri is a graduate of Army Navy Academy, winning the William Randolph Hearst national rifle marksmanship championship.
