President Missionary Society of Mississippi Conference. Presiding elder Methodist Church in Mississippi, 1832-1848. A founder, trustee Centenary College, 1839.

Delegate General Conference Methodist Episcopal Church, advocated formation of Methodist Episcopal Church South, 1844.
