Career
Lister played on the Professional Golf Association Tour in the 1970s and early 1980s, and was one of the dominant players on the Australasian golf scene during that period. His best finish in a major championship was T-25 at the 1971 British Open. At one point in his career between 1972 and 1977, Lister was the leading player on the New Zealand Tour winning ten of twenty-five events.
Lister has written several golf teaching guides.
He lives in New Zealand. Lister"s older brother, Tom, is a former rugby union player who represented New Zealand.
