MACCUNN, John was born in 1846 in Greenock. Son of John MacCunn, Justice of the Peace, shipowner.
Greenock; University of Glasgow. Balliol College Oxford. Master of Arts (Glas. and Oxford).
Doctor of Laws (Glasgow).
After graduation at Oxford, taught for five years there. Elected Professor of Philosophy in University College, Liverpool, upon the foundation of that institution. Held the same post in the University of Liverpool.
Retired with the title of Emeritus Professor, 1910.
