He is currently playing with the Frölunda The Human Context organization. Nyberg was selected by the Dallas Stars in the sixth round (165th overall) of the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Nyberg made his Swedish Hockey League debut during the 2014-2015 SHL season.
