PRIMROSE, John Ure was born on October 16, 1847. Son of late William Primrose, merchant miller in Glasgow, and Annie, daughter of John Ure, baker and merchant miller in Glasgow, and n. of late John Ure, Doctor of Laws, ex-Lord Provost of Glasgow.

Entered Town Council of Glasgow, 1886. Magistrate, 1891; Chairman of the Clyde Navigation Trustees.
