Proud is a left-handed batsman. These came against Huntingdonshire and Yorkshire in the 2000 National Westminster Trophy, and the Lancashire Cricket Board in the 2001 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy. In his three List A matches, Proud scored seven runs at a batting average of 2.33, with a high score of 6.
In the field he took a single catch.
In 2002, he represented Cambridgeshire in a MCCA Knockout Trophy match against Suffolk. He latterly played club cricket for Harrogate Community College in the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League.
