Mr. Schwacke started work as draftsman in the Rankin & Kellogg office, shortly after was taken into partnership. Among the firm's major buildings with which he was identified was the Provident Trust Company in Philadelphia (1927); Annex to the County Court House, Norristown, Pa., 1928; Additions to the Federal Building, Indianapolis (1934); Safe Deposit & Trust Company Building, Camden, N. J. (1929); Central Building, Department of Agriculture, Washington, D. C. (the firm’s most noted work), and the new Post Office Building in Philadelphia, 1931.
Mr. Schwacke had been a member of the Philadelphia Chapter, A.I.A. after 1916, and a year prior to his death was elected to Institute Fellowship.
