Career
He died in 1985 in Los Los Angeles Born in 1935 in Ripon, Yorkshire, England, Tristram was raised on a farm and rode a bicycle over the hilly English countryside which developed his legs, giving him an excellent foundation for bodybuilding. After serving a number of years in the British merchant marine, he emigrated to America.
Tristram"s early training took place at Abe Goldberg"s Gym in New York City.
He appeared on the covers of many fitness and physique magazines in the 1950s and 1960s, including Physique Pictorial, Health and Strength, and Muscle Builder, often appearing as "John Trenton". 1957 Amateur Athletic Union Mr. Eastern America, 6th, medium class
