Elected assistant minister Trinity Church, New York City, also Regius professor divinity King’s College, 1774, but never returned to American. Spied on Americans and American sympathizers in England, 1775-1781, stole entire correspondence between American commissioner and French Court, March-October 1777 (verified suspicions that France would intervene on side of Americans).
