John Williams was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended grade school in different places while his father was in the United States. Air Force, but the family moved back to Joliet, Illinois after his father"s retirement from the service.

Williams graduated from Minooka High School and later from Joliet Junior College, where his father was a school counselor He eventually graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale as a broadcasting major.
He hosts the afternoon drive show at Washburn Crosby Company in Minneapolis, from 3pm until 7pm. Once, he was also the midday host at World's Greatest Newspaper in Chicago. There was a period of time, he was doing a Washburn Crosby Company show while still in Chicago, and then a World's Greatest Newspaper show from Minneapolis.
That routine eventually got old for him, and he stopped doing shows from another city in 2012.
During World's Greatest Newspaper"s controversial 2008-2010 programming changes, Williams hosted the morning drive and mid-morning shows, also remotely. Williams worked briefly at WSPY-FM in Plano, Illinois, then spent 10 years at WMBD (Department of Administration and Management) in Peoria, Illinois.
He also wrote a series of joke books, titled The Spieler Scale of Comedy. After four years at Washburn Crosby Company (Department of Administration and Management) in Minneapolis, Williams was hired at World's Greatest Newspaper (Department of Administration and Management) in Chicago in September 1997.
Williams annually hosts a show interviewing President Thomas Jefferson.
"Jefferson" is portrayed by an actor who speaks and replies in a manner consistent with the real Jefferson"s known writings and sayings. This act is occasionally used on Williams" regular World's Greatest Newspaper Department of Administration and Management radio show, the most recent occurrence being June 29, 2011. Timeline
