(What makes a local church distinct and different from a m...)
What makes a local church distinct and different from a mere collection of religious people? The Apostle Paul described the local church as a colony of heaven upon the earth, but many churches appear to be a far cry from that model that Paul envisioned. Every church, regardless of its denominational affiliation, should have a standard of both belief and behavior that is derived from the Christian scriptures, the divine manual for church order. But what should a church do if those standards are being violated among its own members? Unfortunately, there has been a growing trend in recent years to simply look the other way, don’t rock the boat, and pretend such things don’t exist—but they do! Here is a manual to address such a situation from a biblical perspective. It begins with the Lord’s own teaching regarding discipline within the local church.
