Joined navy, 1918; worked in mines, shipyards, as sign painter, clerk, musician, et cetera, 1919-1925. Advertising artist, on Pacific Coast and New York City, since 1926. Has painted in spare time since art study, 1923.
Member faculty Famous Artists Schools, Westport. Connecticut Has exhibited paintings at Julien Levy Gallery (New York City), 1939-1942, museum in North America. Latin America and Europe.
Served as seaman 2d class, United States Navy, 1918-1919.
