Black, John Clarke was born on July 3, 1837 in Middlebury, Vermont, United States. Son of Daniel and Jean (Lawrence) Black.

Career

Removed to Chicago, 1856. Employed as bookkeeper and cashier for Ross & Ramber, dry goods, and later with Armour & Company until 1881. One of the organizers and incorporators, 1883, of the Continental National Bank, of which was many yrs president and later Chairman, Board Of Directors.
