Fillmore, John Comfort was born on February 4, 1843 in near Franklin, Connecticut, United States. Son of John L. and Mary Ann (Palmer) Fillmore.

Education

Graduate Oberlin College, 1865. Studied music under Moritz Hauptmann, Ernst Richter, Benjamin Papperitz, Leipzig, Germany.

Career

Instructor instrumental music Oberlin (O.) College, 1867-1868. Professor music Ripon (Wisconsin) College, 1868-1878, Milwaukee College for Women, 1878, Pomona College, Claremont, California, 1895-1898. Founder, director Milwaukee Music School, 1884-1895.
