John Frazier Head

Head, John Frazier was born on January 9, 1821 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Son of George E. and Hannah (Catlin) Head.

Bachelor of Arts, Yale, 1840, Master of Arts, 1843. Doctor of Medicine Harvard Medical School, 1843.

Career

Entered United States Army, August 6, 1846, as First lieutenant, assistant surgeon. Served in Mexican and Civil wars. Retired for age with rank of colonel, January 9, 1885.

Advanced in grade to brigadier general, retired April 23, 1904.
