Began practice at Bowling Green, 1900. Director course post-graduate study for county medical societies, 1907-1911, director American National Bank. Commissioned captain Medical Corps, United States Army, 1917, advanced through grades lieutenant colonel, 1918.

Chief of surgical service Base Hospital Camp Logan, Texas, 1917-1918.

Chief of surgical service, Base Hospital Northern 86, Mesves Hospital Center, France. Returned to the United States as regimental surgeon, 139th Field Artillery.

Honorary discharged 1919.
