Missionary, German Reformed Church in Pennsylvania, 1735, began preaching to German Reform settlers in Philadelphia, 1735. Refused ordination by Presbytery of Philadelphia, later ordained after studying theology, 1841. Served as minister in Dutch churches on Long Island, New York, until 1748.
Submitted to reexamination and reordination when his ordination was contested, 1748.
Colleague pastor Hackensack and Schraalinburgh, New Jersey (U.S.), 1748-1774. An original trustee Queens College (now Rutgers University).
