John James Gaynor, American molecular biologist, educator. Achievements include development of first method for the isolation and purification of amyloplasts from higher plants; first to clone cDNA and sequence endochitinase gene from Phaseolus; establishment of callus and cell lines of rubber, Hevea brasiliemsis.
