Student Massachusetts Institute Technology, 1885-1889. Traveled and studied in Europe, 1889-1890. In office of Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge, architects, Boston, 2 years, then in their Chicago office working on the Chicago Public Library and Chicago The Art Institute of Chicago.

Representative same firm at Saint Louis, 1893, later becoming Saint Louis partner.
