Promoted ensign, July 17, 1875. Master, May 28, 1881. Lieutenant junior grade, March 3, 1883.

Lieutenant, May 26, 1887. Lieutenant commander, March 3, 1899. Commander, March 21, 1903.

Captain, November 8, 1907.
