John Paul Gyekenyesi, American Mechanical engineer. Achievements include development of new computational techniques by applying the method-of-lines in analytical fracture mechanics to obtain new solutions to 3-D crack problems. Initiated, guided development of general purpose ceramic component life prediction software, used worldwide under the name CARES; studied failure mechanisms in ceramic matrix composites & published results.
