Career
Admitted to California bar, 1912, and began practice at Los Los Angeles City attorney Pasadena, 1906-1910. In charge proceedins while city attorney, resulting in establishment of the city water system.
Also establishing municipal power and light system.
Handled litigation for city versus Bell Telephone interests, resulting in consolidation of local telephone companies and establishment of rights of telephone and telegraph companies in streets of cities of California. Judge Superior Court, Los Angeles County, California, 1910-1925.
Presiding judge, 1918. Resigned; later practicing in Los Angeles, member firm Wood, Crump, Rogers & Arndt.
Republican of California State Bar Association, 1928, in proceedings in Superior Court for liberal interpretation of constitutional provisions for judicial council.
Initiated movement in California for reform of judicial selection and tenure, 1932. Chairman committee, conference bar association delegates on judicial selection and tenure, 1935, 36, and of lie Committee, American Bar Association, 1937-1944. President Judicial Secretary California Bar Association, 1924-1926.
Member of the board of Governors of California State Bar, 1931-1934, (vice president 1933).
