(How can I receive the Holy Spirit? Do I have to speak in ...)
How can I receive the Holy Spirit? Do I have to speak in tongues? If you are asking those questions, this is the book for you. It is the position of this book that there ought to be a vitality in the Christian life as an outgrowth of the experience of salvation. This vitality is inherent in the experience of salvation itself. It does not await some later experience, or second blessing, to bring about the intimacy of walking with God in a warm, vital relationship. God himself enters the individual believer at the time of his or her conversion. Every believer has the Holy Spirit dwelling within. The Christian life is meant to be a life of warm personal fellowship with God from the beginning. Many people have been nominal Christians, somewhat casual churchgoers. Some have been more rooted to the institution of the church than to the Lord of the church. For whatever reason, they have had a secondhand faith and a lukewarm experience. They have never really developed their own understanding of the Bible and its message; nor have they cultivated their own personal relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. They simply adopted a belief and lifestyle passed on to them from somebody else. You can come alive in your relationship to God through the Holy Spirit dwelling within you
