John Wesley JUDD

Background

He was born in Portsmouth the son of George and Jannette Judd and educated at the Royal School of Mines, where he later became Professor of Geology.

Doctor of Laws.

Career

President Geological Society, 1887-1888. Professor of Geology, 1876-1905. Dean of Royal College of Science, London, 1895-1905.

Achievements

• He was President of the Geological Society between 1886 and 1888 and awarded their Wollaston Medal in 1891.
