Career
One of the early bands he was active in was King Kobra, from 1983 to 1986. In 1986 he joined the heavy metal band West.A.S.P. Johnny Rod used both Fender (the Fender Precision bass is his all time favorite) and British Columbia Rich basses during his career.
His main bass with West.A.S.P. was a yellow British Columbia Rich Ironbird bass. In 2010, he reunited with King Kobra.
