Jokei Takenouchi was a Japanese master of koto player. He became totally blind at the age of 16, but this affliction did not deter him from becoming one of the greatest koto (Japanese zither) players of his time.

Jokei Takenouchi was born in 1840 in Onomichi, Hiroshima, Japan.
Education
He studied under Kuzuhara-Koto, the great master and then began self studying.
Achievements
His genius was recognized and he was awarded the title of Dai-Kengyo, the highest title a koto player can achieve.
