Education
While studying Confucian literature under Soju Nambu, he learned astronomy and calendar science and ndeavored to learn Western science.
Career
At the invitation of the Shogunate, he went to Edo in 1718 to serve as an expert on astronomy and calendar science in the Shogunate government. He rendered distinguished services in introducing Western learning.
