He was a first-team All-American out of University of Southern California and Manual Arts High School. 1954: 96 carries for 601 yards and 7 Territorial Decoration. 3 catches for 104 yards and 2 Territorial Decoration. 1955: 141 carries for 672 yards and 11 Territorial Decoration. 6 catches for 154 yards and 3 Territorial Decoration. 1956: 99 carries for 625 yards and 6 Territorial Decoration. 2 catches for 38 yards. Arnett was a five-time Pro Bowler with the Los Angeles Rams from 1958 to 1962 and played with the Chicago Bears from 1964 to 1966.
He was known by the popular nickname of Jaguar Jon Arnett.
Arnett runs a distribution service and supplies frozen foods to Costco, Sam"s Club, and Wal-Mart. After living for many years in Rancho Palos Verdes, Arnett and his family now live in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
