Career
Born in, County, Clancy first excelled at hurling whilst at school at Saint Flannan"s College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 2005 championship.
At club level he is a two-time championship medallist with.
Throughout his career Clancy made 28 championship appearances. He announced his retirement from inter-county hurling on 7 February 2014.
